I am a newbie. Just yesterday I installed Windows 10 on an Intel NUC, then installed HyperSpin, RocketLauncher, MAME and JoyToKey (JTK). I am able to use the usb controllers to play games, but they appear to be using the ROM's default configuration (not the JTK config). Any idea why?
The approach I took to figure out what mappings were needed and create the profiles was:
That seems like a lot of work to do for each game, and as I mentioned above, it seems to not be using the JTK profile anyways.
What is the best approach to get everything setup? Are there any recommended tutorials that I could follow or perhaps even a place to download pre-configured profiles that work for most games?
Edit: finally got all of this sorted out. Didn't do XBOX controller setup yet, but that can wait until another day.
The approach I took to figure out what mappings were needed and create the profiles was:
- Launch HyperSpin
- Press TAB
- Took a picture of the button layout on my phone
- Created JTK profile based upon those settings
- Put JTK profile in a 'Utilities' directory, which is in the same folder as HyperSpin, RL, etc.
That seems like a lot of work to do for each game, and as I mentioned above, it seems to not be using the JTK profile anyways.
