"Exit Emulator Key" doesn't work with XBOX one controller

I capture a button in the menu and it registers normally. But then, it doesn't work.

I can only make this work with Joy to Key, but that's another program in the chain that shouldn't be needed.

I'm having this exact same issue. When I use my Xbox One controller the exit emulator keys do not work. I can set them in the menu but then when I try to use them in any emulator nothing happens. And yes, I have troubleshot doing everything in the exact correct order as specified.
