Re: HyperLaunch Wiki

I like the layout, the only issue with it is that you need a widescreen monitor with a large resolution otherwise you'll need to scroll horizontally to see it all. Reading it in mobile phones or tablets might be a problem.
Oh and the HLHQ logo isn't green :)

Re: HyperLaunch Wiki

I know about the small res thing, why I said above I'm still working on it.

Yea that was the only logo I had as I can't find the correct one, so it's just filler for now. If you have it, please post the original for me so I can shrink it down. Thanks.

Re: HyperLaunch Wiki

Check my folder. For small resolutions what I normally use is a single column with the titles only and then the sub-chapters showing after clicking on it accordion style, but I don't think that's something you can do on a wiki so you're pretty limited.

Re: HyperLaunch Wiki

Thanks.

I don't have the option to detect res's and load a different template. If you are reading technical documents on a tiny res, shame on you!

Oh I'm not, but certainly many will be. People can't live without their smartphones these days.

Got the homepage aligned how I wanted to now. Should work better on small res screens.

Re: HyperLaunch Wiki

Much better now, still seeing the horizontal scroll on my 4:3 monitor (1280x1024), but you should remove the orange background from the logos and make it transparent after doing that and trimming the images it should all be good as the extra pixels should be enough to make it fit the screen.

Re: HyperLaunch Wiki

There is nothing to trim from the images, they are all cut exactly the size you see. The background is just some css in the table. Image's won't change size so the only way to make them smaller is to upload ones smaller than 300px wide. With some simple math I can see why you see an issue. 3x300px images is 900, that only leaves you 380 pixels for the side bar and padding on either side of the table and in between the images in the main body. That's not really enough. I didn't design it to fit on only 1280. The only way it would fit on your screen is to cut down on the biggest use, which is the images. If I cut them too much more, they start to look too small.

I edited the css a little and allow the side bar to shrink another 50px and lessened the padding to the right of the side bar, see if that's better for your tiny res :)

Re: HyperLaunch Wiki

I see, the images don't need to be trimmed yeah, but there's something strange on that table then because it's forcing more pixels at the left than at the right, see here:
WGULYV5.png

Check the space between the left border and the H and the space between the right border and the rocket, they are very different and even if you resize the window the left gap won't get smaller than that. If the left gap could be made the same as the right should be enough to fix the problem.
On a 16:9 monitor now so can't check if that solved anything, but will check later and get back to you.
That orange background looks a bit out of place to me btw, I think it would look better with a transparent one.

Re: HyperLaunch Wiki

I see what you mean but there isn't anything I'm setting on the image to cause that:
Code:
| align="center" colspan=1 bgcolor="#FFFFFF" style="font-size:150%; border: 0px;" | [[Image:hyperlaunch_thumb.png|link=HyperLaunch]]

I adjusted some column padding to gain back pretty much the same amount you are losing on either side of the image. So try that instead.

I removed the colors, but it somewhat looks odd now with the columns with no image and an orange background, it's no longer uniform. It would be fine if I had images for those others, but I don't.

I guess we need to find someone to make those for us then, maybe THK wouldn't mind helping out again. Should be a piece of cake for him.

I like the layout much more now, you should add a What is it? entry for both HP and HLQH menus I think it will look better to have that first separator lined up on all 3 of them. And we can add some intro text for both on them anyway.
Still can't test in the other monitor, but just by looking at it seems to be fine, but I'll let you know later on.

Re: HyperLaunch Wiki

I added the What Is It to the others.

Yea having the others as images would look a lot better, but I wasn't sure what exactly we needed the other columns to encompass until content is actually added. Those column names may change.

Re: HyperLaunch Wiki

Alright just checked, looks pretty good now.
You might want to pad the HLHQ logo to make it 57px. high like the others, the First Steps headers aren't perfectly aligned due to this.

Re: HyperLaunch Wiki

Re: HyperLaunch Wiki

KevinLives has been updating the wiki and transitioning pages over. The goal is to get everything off the old site and onto the wiki.

As pages are moved over, I will delete the old page with a link pointing to the new page on the wiki as you can see here: https://sites.google.com/site/hyperlaunch2/home/development

If anyone else wants to assist him, as it does not require any artistic or programming knowledge, please post here.

Thanks KevinLives!
